Transforming a modest 14m x 6m terraced garden in Bromley Heath, Bristol into a multifunctional sanctuary was a true design challenge – and exactly the kind of project BGR thrives on.
Our clients dreamed big: they wanted a garden that could be everything at once – a tranquil retreat, a creative hub, a family entertainment space, and a practical home for pets and storage. Their wish list included:
- A garden room / craft studio
- Outdoor seating and dining areas
- Living green walls for a lush, vibrant feel
- A pizza oven and BBQ zone for alfresco evenings

And, to top it all off, they wanted the ultimate WOW factor: a fully integrated swim spa with air source heat pump – a year-round luxury swimming experience, right in the heart of their mid-terrace garden.
At BGR Designs, we approached the project as artisan landscapers and design-build specialists. We tackled the practical elements first – ensuring storage, functionality, and flow – before unleashing the “wow” elements that make this garden truly one of a kind.
The result is a bespoke outdoor living space that combines craftsmanship and imagination:
